Computer Audit Protection Program
(C.A.P.P.)
(working title,
subject to change)
Proposed Release Date: November 2006
Microsoft technologies the software product will support: Windows 2003 Server, Windows XP, Windows 98 and SQL Server, MS ACCESS, and FoxPro
The Computer Audit Protection Program collects data on the hardware and software of computers within a given network. The networked systems are periodically audited and the data is compared to the previous audit. The differences are then reported to the adminstrator. Warnings are issued when certain categories are changed or when user defined alert levels are reached. This way managers, and network adminstrators can be regularly notified of critical updates, changes and the overall health of the systems. The program has a central data server module, and workstation/server audit modules. The audit modules can be installed as services or as scheduled events. Individual audit modules can be set to run audits independently of the schedules of other audited systems. This allows a tighter monitoring schedule of trouble prone systems.
The primary user interface of the program is written in Clarion.
The
databases can be any of the following: MS Access, FoxPro, Native Clarion,
Topspeed, Dbase, and MSSQL.
